Kaixo!

Pronounced kay-shoh. That means hello in Euskera, the language of the Basque Country. Don't worry, I won't test you. Most likely.

My name is Kendra, and this is my life!

Who am I?

I'm a 20-year-old history student spending this semester in Bilbao, Spain. No idea where that is?

BAM. We're about THIS MUCH away from France. I'm not going to tell you much about the city now, because then what's the point of this blog? I've been here for two weeks, so let me just give you Bilbao in five phrases:

  1. Seattle-esque weather
  2. Goldilocks sized (not too big, not too small)
  3. Guggenheim
  4. Pinxtos, not tapas. Same thing, different region of Spain.
  5. Bursting with life--in a completely authentic way

I like books, friends, wine, and a sundry other things that you are sure to find out.

Why, you might ask, am I starting this blog after almost a month?

Simple. The first five days were a daydream, full of wine, sight-seeing and jetlag. The next eleven-ish days were when I crashed back down to terra firma, realizing that foreign places also have supermarkets, traffic, and WiFi problems. But now, these "foreign" problems are my problems, and it's not so cute. Not to mention weird, crippled pigeons in the park... seriously, what is that on his foot???

I digress.

Now I've figured out (most of) my life here, and I can actually write something that people might enjoy reading.

Once I get my camera to load. Heh.

Here we go!!
